![]() ![]() The only thing I can say I like about this place is that it's right across the street from the beach and the price was pretty good for such a location. Also, the walls are paper thin at the Royal Clipper so you can hear your loud drunken neighbors and every car that goes by. We struggled with having enough room to park in a little car. The parking lot is also very tight, so if you have a larger vehicle I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. The pool is very, very tiny and I didn't even bother going in. The elevator was very dark and felt like it was about to break down. The power went out several times that morning, but that's nothing the hotel could control. The second room we stayed at was also on the 5th floor and it was nicer than the room with the missing headboard and curtains. We had to switch rooms our second night since they messed up our original room, which wasn't a big deal. It was rather shocking, but I didn't get hurt so I laughed it off. When I went to take it down, a large piece of splintery wood fell on me. Also, I put a towel up in the closet for a little while until I needed it. The door almost hits the toilet when you go to open or close it. The bathroom is extremely tiny, so if you are claustrophobic or overweight at all, you may struggle in this bathroom. Not a huge deal, but I read a review on here earlier about the ant problem in this hotel. Also, there were no curtains, just blinds, so the room was unbearably bright in the morning. There was also a drill and a bag of screws on the table next to the TV. Well, we got to our room and the first thing we noticed was one of the bed headboards was just sitting there on the floor. And he actually considered charging us more because he was moving us from the first floor to the fifth! My sister was like no way are you charging us extra for this hassle. ![]() My sister went to get us a different room since we had already paid, and the guy at the desk took foreverrrrr to find us one. That guy was awesome he called the front desk people morons and we totally agreed. He said he had been telling the front desk people all day to not book that room to anyone because it was not ready for anyone at all. One of the staff came by and was shocked that they booked us that room. They put us into room 108, but when we went to go in, the carpet was SOAKED with water and they were obviously in the middle of fixing it. I don't understand all these reviews saying the staff was friendly. I don't know if it's because we're young (we're in our early to mid 20s) or they are just jerks, but either way they were very stand-offish.
